The Power of Fellowship: Discipleship Class at ICMM SIB Bandaraya, Kota Kinabalu

On the evening of July 24, 2024, the ICMM SIB Bandaraya, Kota Kinabalu, held a discipleship class in the SIBBKK Youth Room. This session, part of the ongoing Module 1 training guide for new souls, focused on the vital topic of fellowship. Pastor Georgemoll Rungkas led the class, imparting wisdom and insights on the importance of fellowship within the Christian community.

The class, scheduled from 6:30 pm to 9:00 pm, saw the participation of ten dedicated attendees. The atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm and a genuine desire to grow in faith and understanding. These classes, held every Wednesday, provide a structured and supportive environment for new believers to deepen their faith and build strong, meaningful connections with fellow Christians.

The focus on fellowship in this session emphasized the significance of community and support in one’s spiritual journey. The fellowship of Christians together is very important, for it is in our unity that the believer is encouraged and grows in Christ. As Romans 1:11-12 states, “I long to see you so that I may impart to you some spiritual gift to make you strong – that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other’s faith.” Fellowship provides an environment where believers can share their experiences and faith, encouraging one another and growing stronger in their relationship with Christ.

Furthermore, fellowship helps the world come to know that Jesus was sent by God. John 17:22-23 illustrates this by saying, “I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one as we are one: I in them and you in me. May they be brought to complete unity to let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you have loved me.” Through the unity and love demonstrated in Christian fellowship, the world can witness the truth of Jesus’s divine mission and the love of God for humanity.

Pastor Georgemoll Rungkas’s guidance and teaching continue to inspire and equip the participants, fostering a sense of unity and shared purpose. As the discipleship program progresses, the SIB Bandaraya community eagerly anticipates further sessions that will help them grow in their faith and commitment to living out the teachings of Jesus Christ.
