A BSIB Class by Pr Nurimah – Establishing an Effective Prayer Life
ICM Sabah. On May 19, 2024, a session of the Bible School in a Backpack (BSIB) took place at Church of SIB Kolompok Rompon Tambunan. Led by our ICM Trainer Pastor Nurimah Binsing, the class brought together five enthusiastic young students eager to deepen their spiritual understanding and practice.
The focus of the class was Module 1, Part 2 of “Establishing an Effective Prayer Life,” covering essential aspects such as the purpose, results, manner, and timing of prayer. Pastor Nurimah emphasized the transformative power of prayer in a believer’s life, guiding the students through a comprehensive study of its various facets.
Understanding Our Identity in Christ
A foundational scripture for the session was 1 Peter 2:9, which highlights the unique identity of believers: “You are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation.” Pastor Nurimah explained that as priests unto God, their ministry to Him must take precedence over all other ministries. This ministry is primarily expressed through praise, worship, and intimate communion with God through prayer.
The class delved into the profound truth that believers can undertake their priestly duties because of the blood of Jesus, which grants them righteousness and access to the Holy of Holies. This teaching resonated deeply with the students, enhancing their appreciation of their spiritual roles and responsibilities.
Throughout the session, the students began to realize the importance of a consistent prayer life. Prayer, as they learned, is not just a religious duty but a means to rest in God’s presence and entrust Him with their problems and anxieties. It is to build a personal relationship with the Lord., so that He is able to share the intimate secrets of His heart with them.
The class proved to be a wonderful time of reflection and growth for the young participants. They expressed newfound awareness and appreciation for prayer, understanding its crucial role in their spiritual lives. They learned that through prayer, they can experience God’s peace and presence in profound ways.
Looking Forward to Future Classes
The students are eagerly looking forward to continuing their studies, anticipating the next classes in other parts of Chapter 1 in the BSIB module. As the class concluded, the students left with a renewed commitment to cultivate an effective prayer life, ready to embrace their identity as a chosen generation and a royal priesthood. Praise the Lord for this enriching experience and the continued growth of these young believers in their spiritual journey.
