ICM-BEM Discipleship Ministry Mission Trip

Patah Abang and Apoh Districts | 23–29 July 2025

The ICM-BEM Discipleship Ministry team recently completed a significant mission trip to the Patah Abang and Apoh districts, visiting seven churches to introduce the ICM Bible School in a Backpack (BSIB) program. This initiative aims to equip rural churches with practical discipleship tools to strengthen believers and raise local leaders for effective ministry.

The mission trip was led by Pastor Mathew Dan, together with Pastor Richie Sambora, Pastor Robin Bato, and Elder Richard Ngau. Their main purpose was to introduce the ICM discipleship ministry, provide practical briefings on available modules, and encourage the churches to be more active in carrying out discipleship ministry as a vital part of fulfilling the Great Commission.

The journey began on 23 July 2025 with a challenging drive in a four-wheel-drive vehicle. Along the way, the team faced damaged roads and a broken bridge making travel difficult. At one point, the team had to switch to another vehicle better suited for rough terrain to continue the journey safely. Despite these obstacles, they pressed on and eventually arrived safely at Long Kawi Church in Patah Abang, where the first meeting was held.

Upon arrival, the team led a time of worship and shared the Word of God. They then introduced the ICM Discipleship Ministry and explained the importance of establishing strong discipleship foundations within the church. Training sessions were conducted to help participants understand the use of the ICM discipleship modules and how these resources could transform their congregations.

The response was encouraging as many believers and church leaders attended the sessions with enthusiasm. There was a clear hunger for discipleship and a renewed commitment to making it a central focus of ministry. Several pastors expressed gratitude for the resources and guidance provided, acknowledging that these tools would help strengthen their work in reaching and discipling their communities.

This mission trip not only strengthened relationships with local churches but also ignited a deeper passion for discipleship in these remote areas. It was a testimony of God’s faithfulness and the dedication of the team who traveled through difficult conditions to serve His people. We continue to pray that the seeds planted through this trip will continue to bear fruit for generations to come.

All glory to God!
