From February 17th to 18th, 2023, a dedicated group from ICM Sarawak embarked on a short-term mission (STM) trip to Roban Saratok under the guidance of Cikgu Robin Meramat, Cikgu Isa Agun, and Cikgu Sopi. Their mission? To extend spiritual outreach to the residents of longhouses in the area.

Accompanying this compassionate team were esteemed pastors from various ICM Centers: Pastor Melai Belingau, Pastor Albert, Pastor Hendry, Pastor Willie Jita, Pastor Dickie Isaac, Pastor Julia Sujang, Pastor Dominic Jay, Pastor Ambrose Liap, and Pastor Priestley, an assembly of 9 pastors representing multiple ICM Centers including Pusat, Lachau & Telagus, Kpg Karu, Sri Aman, Saratok, Tmn Merdang, and Gethsemane.

The team picked the scripture of Matthew 6:33, “Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need,” and their mission was to spread this profound message.

This journey bore fruit. The team journeyed to 6 longhouses – Rumah Krangas Baru Roban, Rumah Anong Sare, Rumah Krangas Panjang Riban, Rumah Akam Sare, Rumah TR Dana Lubok Renit, and Rumah Adong Sare – engaging in warm fellowship and meaningful interaction with the residents. Each longhouse, home to 5-6 families and approximately 20 plus individuals. The pastors led worship services, delivered impactful biblical teachings, shared the word of God, and prayed for the sicks. Praise God, their efforts bore fruit with 26 salvations, accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior. In additional, there are 5 individuals underwent water baptism, symbolizing the profound journey of spiritual renewal through Christ’s sacrifice. “This means that anyone who belongs to Christ has become a new person. the old life is gone; a new life has begun!” 2 Corinthians 5:17.

As the mission drew to a close, the team congregated at Angkat Mansang Church for a collective worship service with the local members. This STM trip epitomized the transformative power of faith and community outreach. It was a privilege to share the Gospel, proclaiming God’s goodness testimonies, witnessing lives transformed and souls saved. Each interaction served as a beacon of hope, strengthening the faith of many and nurturing trust in the divine. With gratitude, we acknowledge God’s divine protection throughout the journey, showering blessings upon all involved. Praise the Lord, Hallelujah!
