On April 25, 2025, Pastor Derwin and Pastor Jason led a passionate team of over 30 people from ICM and Jesus My Rock Church on a short-term mission trip to Pos Slim, Simpang Pulai, with a strong desire to serve and minister to the Orang Asli (OA) community.

Most of our team members departed Kuala Lumpur in the morning and arrived in Simpang Pulai just in time for lunch. After a short rest, we gathered at the hotel lobby where Pastors Jason and Derwin led us in prayer, committing our journey to Pos Slim Village and the evening evangelistic service into the Lord’s hands. As we set off, dark clouds loomed and heavy rain began to fall, showers of blessing indeed! Despite the thunderstorm, we convoyed closely, supporting one another through the winding roads. By God’s grace, just as we reached the entrance of the Village, the rain stopped. It was as if the Lord had cleared the path for us. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed with a delicious dinner lovingly prepared by the OA community followed by an opening prayer by Pastors Jason and Derwin.

Many from the OA community including youths gathered for a time of praise and worship. The anointing and presence of God was deeply felt and many came forward during the altar call, seeking prayer, healing and spiritual renewal.

The following day was dedicated to a medical and dental outreach, carried out by our professional medical volunteers from the team. The OA community, many of whom have limited access to basic health and dental services, received much needed care, compassion, and advise. Word quickly spread, and many more people came eager to see the doctors. Along with addressing physical needs, our team offered encouragement and prayed for all the OA who came. This mission trip was a testimony of God’s love expressed through both word and action, bringing healing and hope to this community.

The outreach wrapped up just before noon, marking a successful completion of a meaningful time of service. We are deeply grateful to God for the opportunity to minister to both the physical and spiritual needs of the Pos Slim community, sowing seeds of faith that we pray will continue to grow and bear fruit. This mission has planted hope and encouragement in the hearts of new believers, and we trust that God’s presence will remain strong among them.

The church in Pos Slim is one of several churches overseen by Rev. Lizune Bah Chong, ICM Coordinator for Semenanjung Malaysia. Rev. Lizune is a devoted servant of God with a heart for the OA communities. He has been faithfully planting churches, raising up leaders, and ministering across Semenanjung Malaysia impacting many lives through his commitment to the Gospel and the growth of God’s Kingdom.

We would like to ask for your continued prayers for the OA community that God will move mightily in their midst, providing protection, guidance, and spiritual growth. May He raise up a strong and faithful generation of believers who passionately pursue His heart and carry forward the work of His Kingdom for many years to come.
