ICM Sarawak Graduation

In a significant step towards enhancing spiritual growth and leadership development, a momentous Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) was signed on June 18, 2024, between the International Christian Mission Malaysia (ICMM) and the Borneo Evangelical Mission (BEM). The signing ceremony, held at the BEM headquarters, marked a pivotal moment in the journey towards nurturing a more empowered and spiritually enriched community.

Bible School in a Backpack (BSIB) is making a big difference in many places, including at GNF Matang Sarawak, where Module 1 classes are happening. About 30 students have signed up for this class, and they’re meeting every week to study God’s word. Recently, on April 28, 2024, they were diving into a chapter called “Establishing an Effective Prayer Life.”

The ICM-BEM Discipleship Ministry recently completed a transformative mission trip to Patah Abang and Apoh, visiting seven churches across the highlands. Led by Pastor Mathew Dan and his team, the trip introduced the ‘Bible School in a Backpack’ program, equipped local leaders with discipleship tools, and reignited the vision for strong, Christ-centered communities despite the challenges of rough terrain and remote access

Deep in the highlands of Borneo, there are villages like Long Lellang and Kampung Pengaran Imman, where spreading the gospel can be difficult because they are so far away from towns. These villages are home to the Kelabit and Penan tribes, who live surrounded by dense forests and rivers. While many of the people are Christians, reaching them to teach the Bible is a challenge due to the rough and remote landscape.

From August 16 to 18, 2024, ICM Sarawak held a powerful three-day Mission Conference and Evangelistic Meeting, led by Pastor Melai Belingan, ICM Sarawak Coordinator, along with Pastor William Tam Along and Rev. Ali Langgit.
