The Orang Asli Conference (OA Conference) took place from August 20 to 22, 2024, at the Chefoo Centre in Cameron Highlands. Organized biennially, this year’s event was Hati Bapa 3.0 (Father’s Heart 3.0), the theme inspired by Romans 8:37 : “Lebih Dari Pemenang – More than Conquerors.” It brought together over 110 participants from 16 tribal villages, including 20 plus Orang Asli pastors, with the aim of spiritual empowerment, revival, refreshment, and unity.

The conference sought to energize and empower OA pastors and believers, fostering bonds among tribes and uniting denominations. Participants were encouraged to focus on discipleship and the Great Commission, while the younger generation was motivated to grow in their love for God, study the BSIB program, and rededicate their lives to serve Jesus Christ.

On the first night, Pastor Derwin Philip led the opening session, emphasizing that trust in God makes believers more than conquerors. His message resonated deeply with the attendees, especially the youth, many of whom responded to the altar call, coming forward for prayer and dedicating their lives to God. It was an emotional moment, filled with the spirit of renewal and commitment.

Throughout the conference, various speakers and workshops offered valuable insights. Pastor Tony and Pastor Christine led separate workshops for men and women, focusing on gender-specific issues that touched many hearts. Pastor Edwin, President of ICM, facilitated discussions among the OA groups, addressing the challenges they face and encouraging collective problem-solving. Pastor Jason and Rev. Simon Petrus, President of SIB Semenanjung, delivered powerful sermons that moved participants to stand and rededicate themselves to God’s service. The presence of the Holy Spirit was strongly felt, as lives were touched and transformed.

Despite rainy weather, the conference remained lively with indoor games that fostered fellowship and unity. Participants demonstrated high team spirit, enjoying the activities and strengthening their bonds with one another. The sense of unity and togetherness extended beyond tribal and denominational lines, reinforcing the shared mission of the OA community as they continue their walk with God.

A significant moment during the event was the awarding of completion certificates to BSIB students. Twenty-three students had completed Module 1, and five had finished Module 2. Many of the pastors present were themselves alumni of the BSIB program, having begun their spiritual journeys through it before pursuing theological studies and becoming full-time pastors. Their journey from students to pastors serves as an inspiration for the younger generation, encouraging them to dedicate their lives to Jesus.

As the 3-day, 2-night conference came to a close, participants expressed their gratitude and excitement, feeling re-energized and motivated by the Word of God. Many voiced their eagerness to attend the next OA Conference, already anticipating the opportunity to reconnect and continue their spiritual growth. Praising God His blessing and anointing, the conference would not be so successful without the presence of God. Praising God for His abundant blessings and anointing, it was clear that the conference’s success was a result of His presence. Without God’s guiding hand and the movement of the Holy Spirit, the impact on the hearts and lives of those in attendance would not have been so profound.
