Trip report to Sri Lanka

This report was prepared by Rev. Suhin Jackson.

We recently visited Colombo and Nuwara Eliya, located in the central highlands of Sri Lanka, known for its cool and refreshing climate. During our trip, we introduced the International Christian Mission Malaysia (ICMM) to the local community and accomplished the following:

In Nuwara Eliya, we organized three meetings for pastors in different estates to introduce the works of ICMM. Many pastors and church leaders attended these meetings and were impressed by the work and resources offered by ICMM . We provided sponsorship for tea, snacks, and lunch during these gatherings.

Some churches were located in remote areas with difficult access. For instance, we had to climb approximately 120 steps and walk 1 kilometer to reach a church in Linthula Estate, which is 22 kilometers from Nuwara Eliya. Despite the tough journey, we successfully introduced ICM to the local pastors.

With God’s grace, we launched the first ICMM Bible School in Thanga Kale Estate on July 4, 2023. Twenty students attended the inaugural class. We are grateful for God’s mercy and support.

Several pastors have shown interest in starting ICMM Bible Schools in August. We are planning to establish these schools in the following locations, and we ask for your prayers:

  • Linthula Estate (22 km from Nuwara Eliya)
  • Ragala Estate (27 km from Nuwara Eliya)
  • Kandapola Estate (12 km from Nuwara Eliya)
  • Oliphant Estate (6 km from Nuwara Eliya)
  • Jaffna One Centre

We are excited about expanding our Bible Schools in the coming months. As we continue to spread the teachings of the Bible and provide education, we request your prayers. May God give us the strength and wisdom to establish and run these Bible Schools effectively.

Tangekelle Estate

Rev. Suhin, accompanied by a dedicated team, embarked on a meaningful visit to Tangekelle Estate, Sri Lanka. During the visit, Rev. Suhin conducted a heartfelt service, sharing the inspiring words of God. Towards the conclusion, he extended an altar call, and numerous individuals responded, experiencing the blessings of the Lord.

Dessford Estate

Rev. Suhin extended invitations to pastors in the surrounding area to participate in an introductory seminar aimed at promoting ICM Mission works. The purpose of this gathering was to encourage pastors to actively engage in the Great Commission, focusing on the disciple-making process to spread the good news, particularly in remote areas. The response was overwhelmingly positive, with many expressing keen interest in joining and supporting the ICM mission works. Praise God for the encouraging turnout and the shared commitment to advancing His mission.

Rev Suhan went to a few more places to share the word of God and had conducted seminar about ICM Ministry.
